Australian Consumer Law (ACL) Guarantees: Our Houghton air conditioning goods come with statutory guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Installation Notice: This official manufacturer warranty covers the product hardware supplied only and does not extend to installation work. For caravan, motorhome, or RV installation-related inquiries, please contact your certified installer directly.

How to Lodge an Australian Warranty Claim

Warranty claims for Houghton air conditioning units must be reported directly to Karma Air. Please prepare the following documentation before submitting:

  • Valid Serial Number of the Houghton unit
  • Original Proof of Purchase (Invoice / Receipt)
  • Current location of your Caravan, Motorhome, or RV

🚫 What Is Not Covered

  • Faults resulting from incorrect or non-compliant installation, lack of maintenance, unstable power supply, voltage surges, lightning strikes, severe weather, or external physical damage.
  • Defects caused by unauthorized modifications, repairs, or service interventions performed by uncertified third parties.
  • Consequential losses, vehicle downtime costs, travel delays, or incidental expenses affecting caravan or boat usability.
  • Travel and call-out expenses incurred by mobile service technicians or agents.
  • Installations failing to follow the official Houghton installation guidelines and specifications.
  • Performance issues arising from incompatible generator use. (Always consult your generator manufacturer to verify electrical compatibility with your Houghton air conditioner model).

⚠️ Circumstances Voiding Warranty

Unless expressly authorized by Karma Air prior to purchase, warranty coverage becomes null and void if the unit has been:

  • Operated outside of its designated recreational vehicle or intended design purpose.
  • Deployed for heavy commercial operations without prior written agreement.
  • Subjected to accidental abuse, severe impact, or chemical corrosion.
